Welcome to Newfoundland & Labrador

Harley and Dad arrive on the morning ferry, the fog wrapping around them like a friendly ghost. “Smells like adventure,” Harley says, tail wagging. Dad chuckles. “And salt, and cod.”

The Story

On the cliffs near Elliston, Harley spots a flurry of wings. “Flying snacks!” he shouts. Dad quickly shakes his head. “Not snacks, buddy — puffins! Newfoundland’s pride and joy.” Harley squints. “They look crunchy.”

A kind tour guide laughs and introduces them to the colony’s friendliest bird. The puffin waddles over, bows slightly, and chirps, “I’m Peppi!” Harley’s jaw drops. “A talking snack!”

Peppi explains that puffins are brave divers and loyal friends. By the end of the day, Harley is proud to call Peppi his newest plushie — and promises to stick to biscuits.

Peppi the Puffin

Cheerful, curious, and always ready for flight, Peppi is a soft black-and-white plush puffin with a bright orange beak and feet. He’s the perfect reminder of Newfoundland’s wild beauty and playful spirit.

Peppi loves sea breezes, new friends, and teaching Harley how to balance on rocks (though Harley usually falls over). His motto: “Wings up, heart open!”

Harley’s note: “Peppi taught me that not all snacks have feathers. Some have friends.”
